Le rassoul est un terme arabe qui signifie "laver" et cette argile minéral unique au maroc constitue une part essentielle de la trousse d'hygiène et de beauté de la femme magrébine. Elle est idéale pour les soins des cheveux mais peut-etre également utilisée sur la peau grace à son extreme douceur
.

PROPERTIES OF GHASSOOL


• Once the Ghassool is mixed and dispersed in the water it gives a smooth mud that presents detergent and grease-removing properties due to a high capacity of exchange in cations. Ghassool only acts as an absorption phenomenon so it does not present any aggressive effects towards hair, skin or mucosa .
• Saponiferous properties
Ghassool is always described as foaming (saponiferous literally means “that contains soaps” ). Researches of the hemolytic power of Ghassool show that it is nul (saponin properieties).
• Water Absorption
Ghassool can absorb 1,66 times its water weight (15g of Ghassool can absorb up to 25ml of water). When the ghassool is filled with water, it blows and occupies a volume of 35ml. In these conditions, this capacity of Ghassool to absorb water is considerable while illite clay (used for
pottery and brichworks ) only absorbs 0,4 times its water weight.
• Charcoal/Carbon Absorption Comparison
Ghassool has a superior absorption power compared to charcoal. It
was shown that 1g of Ghassool is capable of absorbing 80 mg of
blue methylene while 1g of charcoal (coal) only absorbs 20mg. The
absorbing power of Ghassool is 4 times superior to the one of charcoal.

USAGE

• For hair
Being known for its foaming qualities, its cleanliness and
harmlessness, Ghassool is used for the hair and acts as a natural
shampoo by cleaning and removing the grease from hair, without
disturbing the keratin fiber. Ghassool-treated hair shows an
exceptional brightness and flexibility. The chemical analysis and in
particular the determination of the cations in the exchangeable
fractions show that Ghassool has a strong power of liberation of
cations (magnesium, calcium) that are susceptibles to playing a
saponiferous role. These cations will be exchanged. To this are
added absorbing powers which gives it a capacity of fixation of
substances that touch it. So the role of shampooing consists of
eliminating dirt:
Greasy substances created by glands
Derived organics and minerals resulting of perspiration
Keratin residues coming from the scalp
Remainders of cosmetic products used to maintain our grip the hair
Ghassool intervenes when it touches the hair by absorbing and
saponifying the fatty acids and other dirt without allowing the
detergent to be excessive, while maintaining a biological balance on
the hair and the scalp, because the film of sebum is not totally
eliminated.
• For the body
Ghassool mixed in warm water forms a pasty mud that is then
applied on the desired body parts. It is preferable to have a humid
skin and to activate the blood circulation by getting a massage. Let
the paste dry then, once it is dry, clean the skin with astringent
hamamelis water. After these steps, persevere the number of
applications to obtain the best result. Ghassool can then be
considered as a first-class cosmetic product.
• Orally: It is also said that Ghassool is used orally by pregnant
women who have gastric acidity.
