what do u think about islamic civilisation at that time ? were arabs ignorant ?

Omar Alkhatabe (RA ) is known by his justice and faith , is one of 3 greatest men of uma .and one of the 100 world's greatest men ( 52 ), was he able to order to kill innocents in such a war ?

i think shahanshah of persia was right in most of his description.

you will tell me this wasn't aljahiliya but the beginning of Islam! exactly, the answer is there. between the unification of jazeerat alarab and the conquest of persia there is only few years! 7orob redda took almost of the era of abu bakr (governed just 2 years) and it's just then that arabs were one nation, and islam wasn't yet strong in their minds. on the other side, the Alqadissiya batlle (after what persia was annexed to the califat) was just 2 years after (636)!!!!

so shah persia described arabs of jahiliya in his letter, such as killing the daughters which was a fact you'll find that in coran too (wa idha lmaw'odato so2ilat, bi2ayi danbin 9otilat).

it take time to change the idea about people. and all what persians knew was that a new empire show up from no where! the arab empire was so recent.

zoastrism, religion of persia, is too close to monotheism. in fact they believe that there is a God, a good one who is the creator and control everything, the light is his symbol, nothing more (arabs allways misunderstood the meaning of their fire and thought persian worship fire/ shah explained that in his letter and also said that arabs doesn't know much about the persian religion). in addition to Him, there is a minor god, who is a bad one, but this immortal creature, can not do anything unless the Creator authorize it. this minor god is just himself creature of the God. if you think about it, it's a reference to Ibliss in our tradition. except that Islam is very clear about it, God is One and ibliss gonna die in the end of the time and go to Hell (so not immortal). while persian were confused and gave the evil a higher status than what he should have. the zoastrism was revised during centuries and especially after the conquest of Alexander the Great. the late dynasty of sassanid, had forced people to convert, which wasn't the case before. and zoastrism was less popular by the seventh century.

communications at that time wasn't like our time! and even today people still misunderstood each other!! many americans by example think Mohammed is son of God for us and that we don't believe in Jessus. which is all wrong. many others think morocco is all sahara and there is no mountains worse, some of them ask me if we exchange woman with camels!!!!!!!!!! and that's on the 21 century where internet can answer any question.

there is another thing. the sassanid shah lied on somethings! he tried to gain the compassion of arabs by talking about how good and perfect is the persians and their religion. like he only explained the meaning of the fire, and avoid to talk about their second divinity neither their crimes. shah of persia made the annexed people slaves for him, and they were known for their barbary and arabs themselves experienced that few years before islam.
